What do you think is your most precious commodity?

This is a subtitle for your new post

It's taken quite a bit of time for us to finally get our new website up, but here it is!
By way of introduction, we wanted to tell you about how our work can have an impact on you and your business – here is “ Dave’s Story”:
A few years ago, while I was on a Documentation Project, I met a guy in a bit of jam … let’s call him Dave.
Dave was on his third marriage (but that wasn’t his problem).
He was hard working,
He loved his job,
He loved his family.
Dave was on a treadmill he couldn’t get off.
His workload was getting the better of him and he was burning himself out, regularly working over 90 hours a week. It looked like marriage number 3 was on the rocks.
I had just completed a job for his employer when I was asked to look at Dave’s workload, to see if I could recommend training, or find some easy wins to lighten his load.
During this conversation, Dave asked me “Do you think you can do anything with this?”
“This” as he called it, turned out to be a complex scheduling task, that required much of his working hours to complete (Dave was coming in on weekends and working back to get the job done on time).
We both sat down to discuss his situation and the more he explained, the more I was inspired to help him!
Armed with all the details, I reviewed Dave’s workflow process, documented my findings and presented them to senior management, along with a redesign.
Our redesign was a hit!
… and, I was asked to build and install changes to the process, as well as carry out training for impacted staff.
I earned Dave’s unwavering trust within days of implementing the improvements. He had his weekends back … and that meant he had time to improve his golf swing!
In the following weeks I worked with Dave and the IT guys to automate 80% of the existing workload – improving the efficiency and quality of the output.
Dave’s life started to change …
• He had more time to spend with his family
• He was much less stressed at work
• He even received corporate awards for his part in delivering $14m in productivity gains
At the end of the day, we (Dunne Pty Ltd) did a job and got paid. But for me and my company, the real reward, was in helping Dave save marriage number 3 and improve his work-life balance!
Dave and I became friends and still stay in touch.
He’s a much happier guy these days and often asks me why we advertise as Business Consultants instead of ‘marriage saviours’ (he’s a funny guy …).
........
That was just one of our business process success stories!
So don’t wait for your marriage to head for the rocks, or your golf swing to suffer before calling Dunne Pty Ltd to get your life back.
